The Blessings Are in the Delays
I’m at a point in my life were I am simply grateful for life, health, and to be surrounded by love. As we approach the holiday seasons of Thanksgiving and Christmas I am even more mindful of the blessings in my life. As I get older I’ve come to realize that the most important things in life truly are those things money can’t buy. Having people in my life I can count on, doing work I’m passionate about, and making memories with my family are my greatest treasures. Life is short and I’ve learned to make the most of it.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about God’s timing and how sometimes God’s timeline doesn’t always align with our own. We live in a culture accustomed to microwavable outcomes, meaning we expect results fast and get frustrated when it takes too long. We’ve been conditioned by this instant-gratification ideology so it’s easy to get frustrated when we pray about something and God doesn’t answer it immediately.

There have been so many times in my own life where I’ve felt like God was forsaking me, but now in hindsight, when I look back I can see that what I thought was God forsaking me was really His way of either preparing me for the blessing or redirecting me to something better.
